Studio Vetyver is the interdisciplinary practice of Singapore-based artist and designer Pit Firdaus Aris. Based in Singapore, the practice works across garments, objects and spatial installations. Each project is developed through research, material exploration and making, approaching the garment as one of several mediums through which questions of body, material and space take form. Studio Vetyver develops collections as ongoing bodies of work that examine the structures, spaces and material conditions that quietly shape how we inhabit the world.

Shadowscript, 2026
Metal cord locks, elastic cord.
A familiar fastening device woven into a cellular architecture through repetition and accumulation. Individual units replicate across the surface, producing a form that recalls fragments of forgotten scripts and shadow traditions. Oscillating between the anatomical and the ornamental, the work proposes the body as something assembled rather than fixed.
9 to 5, 2026
Seven shirt collars.
9 to 5 repositions the shirt collar as soft architecture of control. Removed from its function, the collar reveals how bodies are shaped through subtle systems of discipline, where belonging, protection and legitimacy are negotiated through design. Referencing Singapore's housing landscape, the collar and the home mirror one another as structures that quietly organise everyday behaviour.

Tulle.
Enfold explores the body as a spatial condition rather than a fixed form. Suspended between garment, sculpture and architecture, the work questions the relationship between the body and the built environment through softness and containment. In doing so, it considers where the body ends and the world begins.
Barriers, 2025
Braided cord, metal rods, candlewax, brackets.
Barriers examines historical narratives and the effects of postcolonialism and spirituality in Southeast Asia through a research trip to Con Dao Islands. The work questions psychological and physical limitations, exploring how the body adapts, resists, and breaks through. Presented as part of the Dr Winston Oh Travelogue Awards 2025.
